Customize Videos and Keep Readers on Your Site!!

Psst!  I'm gonna tell you a secret! This is one of the BIGGEST PITFALLS that beginners and seasoned veterans of social marketing stumble into. THEY VOLUNTARILY SEND PEOPLE AWAY FROM THEIR SITE!!! How is this possible?! Well every time we embed or share a video from YouTube, it links back to YouTube!  We send our hard earned traffic to someone else's website! Now sometimes it's unavoidable since YouTube is one of the most popular video sharing sites out there. But for all my self made videos and screen captures, I use Viddler.com.  Viddler allows me to upload my video, color customize my player and insert my own logo.    But most important of all is that I can change the permalink to track back to my site vs. linking back to the viddler site.  Here's a video to walk you through the process step by step. The more you give away for FREE, the more money you make!  Now that's a pretty popular formula for online marketers and bloggers worldwide.  I'm so glad that one of my favorite comedy acts Monty Python is benefiting from this!  Have you seen their YouTube channel?  Now there's always the question of free content and copyright.  But read the article on Mashable.com for more of the debate.  Please let me know your thoughts on the subject! On this historic day and in keeping with the general theme of our site, I am going to tell you that Obama won the election using the power of the internet.  But not just using the internet, but using it well! "Obama's Internet campaign changes politics." -The New York Times Words can't describe how excited and proud I am today.  Now I could gush some more, sing the man praises and shout out to the world how wonderful it is to hear full sentences woven together to form paragraphs that lead to a clear conclusion, but I digress... So whether you're a fan or not that into him, you have to give the guy props for using the internet, specifically Web 2.0 technology. He hired Facebook co-founder Chris Hughes in early 2007. Back in April of '08 he had over 500,000 unique visits on his site, to Hillary's 350,00, to McCain's 38,000.  Plus people stayed on his site 3x longer to watch his videos. 3 million election day "get the vote out" phone calls were made via internet.
